  • Moodle 2 Evaluation: Project Lead on Moodle 2 features evaluation; planning for the learning objects repository (LOR – Alfresco); lecture capture integration (MediaSite), and LAMS (Learning Activity Management System) evaluation. Perform beta and Q/A testing of Moodle 2; evaluation of new tools, functionality, and 3rd party feature sets for usability, adoption, and integration with existing systems, workflows, and training
  • Moodle 2 to Alfresco Integration Project:  Lead consultant to development team. Focused on usability and custom integration analysis as well as archiving and systems disaster recovery plan for linking our LMS and LCMS via single-sign-on and access from within the LMS.   • School of Nursing MNP Core Course Curriculum: Instructional design consultant and creator of course template and branding for core courses based upon needs analysis and usability feedback from faculty and students. Trained-the-trainer; assisted with faculty adoption training
  • Clinical Translational Sciences Institute Online Program Pilot: Instructional design consultant to the team’s first fully online course EPI 150.03 – Designing Clinical Research for Students.   • School of Nursing, NICU Simulation-Based Learning Project: Assisting a faculty member in creating a simulation based learning module whereby students are presented with a case study and must make decisions for treatment
  • Lecture Capture Software Selection Project:  Advised on Lecture Capture software based upon usability and technology integration needs on campus; researched use of Lecture Capture in higher education as well as medical schools and presented findings to multi-disciplinary team stakeholders
  • Numera Footprints to Service Now Project: Worked with an interdepartmental team to test features, collect data for unit-specific implementation needs, test integration with existing systems (Drupal and Exchange servers), and assist with transition to new system (training documentation)
  • SCORM & Articulate Training: In-depth analysis of history and future of SCORM along with comparison of popular SCORM creation tools; presentation to various teams and delivered a fully-online Articulate SCORM training module**

Senior Instructional Designer

Directly supported 300+ courses and 400+ instructors a semester; indirectly supported over 12,000 students (12% of the credit course offerings at the college). Sample of skillset:

Moodle LMS Consultant

  • Configured multiple Moodle instances’ systems administration menus for usability and compatibility with their existing SIS system
  • Established administrative processes for managing SIS information and courses on the system including naming conventions, categorization, and rollover policies
  • Provided their instructional designer with training materials to adapt for their faculty

UCSF AIDS Health Project                  San Francisco, CA                  March 2007 – March 2008

  • Assisted in selection of hardware and Moodle LMS software for implementation
  • Trained on how to migrate courses from WebCT to Moodle 1.8.2
  • Migrated courses from WebCT to Moodle 1.8.2

Instructional Designer

  • Co-led the migration from old LMS systems (WebCT, ETUDES, Blackboard) to new Moodle system
  • System administrator (policies, processes, and procedures developer) to integrate the new LMS with existing campus systems and create new systems as needed
